Hello There!
You can call me Katie.
It's nice to meet you!
my story
I’m a recent graduate of Lake Washington Institute of Technology where I earned my Associate in Applied Science degree in User-Centered Design. Currently, I'm pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Systems Engineering at Arizona State University. I'm passionate about improving the relationship between the average person and technology and adapting designs to various cultural demographics.
I graduated from Bellevue College in Bellevue, WA in 2011 with an Associate of Arts in Interior Studies (Interior Design) degree. I was very close to earning my bachelor’s in interior design however, imposter syndrome got the better of me, and I instead pursued work in public libraries specializing in Children’s and Teen Services. After spending 11 years working in the public service sector, my life was long overdue for a change. I no longer had a passion for interior design, but I never lost my love of design, and thanks to my time in libraries I had gained a strong skillset in research. So, I made the difficult decision to quit my full-time job and focus on a career change. User experience design and research work clicked with me in a way that no other work had before. I am reinvigorated and have a newfound confidence in myself. I cannot wait to collaborate with you!
